Access to technology is a high priority at Allen School. The Internet is available throughout the school with wireless connectivity in our computer lab and most classrooms. A Promethean interactive white board is revolutionizing teacher presentations in the sixth grade. In addition to our computer lab and classroom computers, a mobile cart with 20 new MacBook laptop computers can instantly transform a classroom into personalized computer workstations for research, use of virtual manipulatives, or multimedia projects.
Technology is imbedded in instruction and learning. Multiple LCD projectors
make it easy for teachers to take advantage of video streaming to enhance
lessons. Students and teachers alike take advantage of digital cameras,
i-movie technology, web page-building applications, and presentation
software to share ideas and learning in a dynamic and engaging format.
