Why Do We Dismiss Early on Thursday?
We value the notion of continuous improvement. This is accomplished
by lengthening the instructional minutes on Mondays, Tuesday, Wednesdays,
and Fridays. This gives the staff an opportunity to collaborate on ways
to improve the overall instructional program for our students.
Portola School is very concerned about student attendance and
punctuality.
Students are marked "tardy" if they are not lined-up by 8:10
a.m. (9:05 for late birds)
After 3 tardies, a note is sent home to the parents and a phone call
from the principal is made.
After 3 notes, a meeting with the principal and the superintendent is
necessary.
A doctor's note is required for "excused" tardies (doctor
appointment, dental appointment, etc.)
Attendance is equally important to your student's academic success.
Please take vacations during non-school days.
If your child is going to be absent or tardy, please call the school
office at 650-624-3175 by 9am.
