ACADEMIC CHESS
Academic Chess is an after school program on Wednesdays at Rollingwood. It is so popular that we had to create two classes! Playing chess helps improve critical thinking skills, increases attention span, improves memory, and helps with math test scores.

MILEAGE CLUB
Rollingwood is keeping healthy with our Mileage Club. Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday students in grades 1 through 6 will have the opportunity to run or walk a mile during the lunch recesses. After students complete 5 miles, they receive a shoe token as a reward. When students complete 10 miles, their name is added to the Mileage Club Wall of Fame in the cafeteria. After 20 miles, students are posted on the Mileage Club 20 Mile Wall of Fame! This is such a popular program among students at Rollingwood. We even had a reporter from the Daily Journal write an article about our wonderful program!

SCIENCE ADVENTURES
Rollingwood hosts an after school enrichment program called Science Adventures every Tuesday. Students can sign up for sessions based on the science topic of interest. Each session lasts 4-8 weeks depending on the topic.

“Rollingwood Chronicle”
STUDENT NEWSPAPER
This year several 5th and 6th grade students requested that Rollingwood School distribute a student produced newspaper periodically throughout the school year. This newspaper includes articles about school events, clubs, classrooms, interviews with staff members, school spirit, p.e., and an advice column called “Ask Bulldog”. Student writers wear a press pass during recess or lunch when conducting interviews for articles. We are very proud of the accomplishments of the “Rollingwood Chronicle” newspaper staff. Pick up your copy in the office today!
STUDENT OF THE MONTH
Each month students are selected by their teacher as Student of the Month. The student completes a profile with a photo of him/her which is on display in the school’s office. These students were chosen based on positive citizenship qualities displayed at school! We are very proud of all these students. Please come and see their Student of the Month profile in the office.
ROLLINGWOOD RADIO
Every morning, Rollingwood has a radio broadcast announcing the lunch menu in the cafeteria, birthdays, and other events at school. Fifth and sixth grade students rotate turns to be radio broadcasters each week. Our famous sign-off is “Thank you for listening to Rollingwood Radio. Have a great day and remember you can’t hide that bulldog pride!”
