Technology

Recently, we purchased brand new desktop computers. Grades 3-6 classrooms each have 5 new computers for student use. Our computer lab has 10 new computers for the primary grades. This year, our school won the Ultimate Windows Vista Computer Lab Makeover where we received 20 brand new Windows Vista laptops. With recently purchased LCD projectors for our classrooms, the laptops will be utilized for multimedia lessons.

All classrooms are equipped with desktop computers that are under 2 years old. Kindergarten and first grade classrooms have 2 new computers each while grades 3 through 6 each have five or more new computers for student use. All teachers utilize laptops with LCD projectors as teaching tools to instruct students in English language arts, math, science, history/social studies, and art. In the computer lab, there are ten recently purchased desktop computers as well as two moblie carts with laptops. All classrooms and computer labs have access to the internet on all computers. Intervention and enrichment software is used regularly during the school day including the reading programs such as Lexia and Reading Counts. Technology is just part of the teaching tools utilized by the staff.
